-[Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling News]-

- After re-watching the incredible Knockout match between Sarita and Alissa Flash on the July 16th,2009 edition of iMPACT!. I am conviced that both of these women will excel if not buried by management. Both were convincing, full of energy, and new wrestling moves. They fought their hearts out and deserve the thumbs up for their performances.

- I want to give kudos to all the Knockouts for the wonderful Battle Royal. While I saw the whole Tracy Brooks thing coming from a mile away, the match was awesome. (No pun intended Kong)

- Bobby Lashley finally did something more than show his face on TNA iMPACT! this week! While he did not reallywrestle, he did make the story line a bit more interesting. If you have never seen Bobby Lashley perform in a wrestling ring, you are gonna love him. I can’t wait for the Samoa Joe vs. Bobby Lashley match.

- Taz is apparently not in TNA to compete, but to ride the coat-tail of Samoa Joe. I’m not knocking Taz, he suffered a career ending injury and I don’t expect to see him compete. However, Samoa Joe does NOT need him as a mentor.

- This brings up a point I’d like to make about TNA’s use of the television time they have. They need to quit catering to “drive-by” fans by over-explaining plots and remove the wrestler promos from the show. I do not tune in to TNA to see what a superstar has done, I want to see what he/she is going to do next. Put the wrestler promos on the website and if they must, explain last week’s episode only. If people are interested, they will follow. When you do a month’s review, people don’t follow, they tune in periodically because they can catchup easily. Anyway, this is my 2 cents on the production of the show, I think it would be MUCH wiser to show wrestling matches on.

-[World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Wrestling News]-

- Looks like Ric Flair and Brett Hart still have their differences in opinion. Flair was quoted in LAW radio this week calling Hart a piss-ant, while Hart still contends that Flair was one of the most over-rated wrestlers ever. Personally, while I realize Flair’s dedication to the business, Hart is correct in his assessment. Flair performed the wrestling moves for years (not adding anything to his professional repertoire). Hart could be construed as a quitter, but I believe he had valid reasoning. His matches were always fresh and full of new holds/moves.

- In more interesting Brett Hart news, he was interviewed on the Busted Open radio show on Sirius satellite radio discussing his current relationship with Vince McMahon. It seems the hard feeling between the two are squashed. Brett stated he appreciated the DVD set WWE released of him, and mentioned support from McMahon after his stroke in 2002.

- Chris Masters has “officially” signed a new deal with WWE. They will re-debut him on the main roster as soon as they find a role for him. Chris has slimmed down a bit since his last appearance in WWE as The Masterpiece.

- As stated last week, Eugene (Nick Dinsmore) will be returning to the WWE main roster provided he can pass their “wellness policy”. Nick was escorted out of the building after a Smackdown taping on September 1rst, 2007 due to issues with pain-killers.

- Gail Kim has a whole new photo shoot at WWE.com. Check them out here.

- Last weeks special guest RAW general managers ZZ-Top were handled even worse than I expected. No live show and the backstage spots that did show Gibbons and Hill with instruments in hand where faked so badly I could tell they were not plugged in. It was like watching ZZ-Top play guitar hero. Worse yet, during the Legs performance Gail Kim, who is not a dancer, was obviously forced to perform in this diva facade. IMHO, the Legs match was awful, featuring three divas in training and one professional wrestler. The best part of the “business end” of Raw was Santino Marella. Does that spell trouble for WWE?

- Speaking of Raw this past Monday, Big Show looked good dominating his opponent Evan Bourne. I’m glad Show is finally becoming the big, nasty, mean, dominant giant he always should have been. Chavo Guerrero was humiliated yet again by Hornswaggle. The Maryse vs. Mickie James match heated up as Miz showed up during Mickie’s interview calling her fat and ugly in comparison to Maryse. Maryse then wrestled Mickie James with a can of hairspray. This is Miz and Maryse’s idea of hype?

- A couple of other really good matches that occurred this week. John Morrison fought Kane on WWE Superstars, this was a great bout between the two. It really gave Morrison credibility to do so well against a veteran like Kane. William Regal faced off against Christian on ECW in a very long match that was full of action and counter moves. Unfortunately for me, I won’t be able to watch this weeks Smackdown until tomorrow so I can’t comment.

- Tonight WWE airs the Night Of Champions. On the card is :
1. Randy Orton defends the WWE Championship against Triple H and John Cena in a Triple Threat match.
2. CM Punk defends the World Heavyweight Championship against Jeff Hardy.
3. Rey Mysterio defends the Intercontinental Championship against Dolph Ziggler.
4. Kofi Kingston defends the United States Championship in a Six-Pack Challenge against MVP, Big Show, The Miz, Carilto, and Jack Swagger.
5. Michelle McCool defends the Women’s Championship against Melina Perez.
6. Maryse Ouellette defends the Diva’s Championship against Mickie James.
7. Tommy Dreamer defends the ECW Championship against Christian.
8. Chris Jericho and mystery partner defend the Unified Tag Team Championships against Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes.

- In regards to Jericho’s mystery partner, I’m going on record as saying it will probably be Ted DiBiase.

-[Other Wrestling News]-

- Ring Of Honor’s Claudio Castagnoli is throwing a fit, stating that he was completely insulted by the Jenna-Sharmell bout at Victory Road due to the fact Jenna appeared to have absolutely no training. Since wrestling is becoming less and less about wrestlingand more about whose tits and ass you see, what does he expect? At least TNA “has” interesting female matchups when you compare them to the other televised brands. The point he’s really missing is that TNA is slowly, but surely, turning into WCW. I see some of the same big names on the payroll that can’t, or won’t, wrestle to their potential and they are undermining the fresh talent for those same big name wrestlers. If they undermine the Knockout division too, they can say goodbye to their audience.

- Twitter/Blog rumors of John Bradshaw Layfield joining the TNA roster are completely false. JBL blogged this week about it on WWE.com stating that he is happy to be retired and has no intentions of re-entering the ring any time soon. He also stated that he has never even been approached by anyone in TNA in regards to signing him. JBL states I am a WWE guy and if I ever return to wrestling, it will be under WWE.

- Twitter rumors say Lita may start competing again were squashed this weekend when she stated she has no plans to return to a wrestling ring.

- Many wrestlers were a part of this week’s Comic Convention, among some of the names were Hurricane Helms (of course), Christopher Daniels, Shad Gaspard, and Rob Van Dam.

… and that’s my 2 cents toward wrestling news this week. :)

- A couple of other really good matches that occurred this week. John Morrison fought Kane on WWE Superstars, this was a great bout between the two. It really gave Morrison credability to do so well against a veteran like Kane. William Regal faced Christian on ECW in a very long match that was full of action and counter moves.
