WWE Monday Night Raw 2009-07-06
- Million Dollar Man General Manager of WWE Monday Night Raw -
Million Dollar Man – Ted Dibiase Sr. appeared on Raw as rotating general manager this week. He quickly promoted his son’s career by scheduling him a match against Legacy team mate Randy Orton.
Carlito and Primo vs. Edge and Jericho – Both teams are top notch athletes but the Colóns were out witted by the two veterans. Jericho wound up hitting the Code Breaker on Primo as Edge distracted the referee. Primo was then immediately Speared by Edge before he hit the ground. Carlito attacked Primo after the match. Possibly taking over the Jeff Hardy vs Matt Hardy story line.
Maryse Ouellette and Alicia Fox vs. Mickie James and Gail Kim – Maryse has come a long way from “model-actress” to wrestler. James and Kim dominated the match and Kim got the pin-fall over Maryse for her team performing some kick-@ss moves. I still want to see Kim vs James in a ladder match.
Cody Rhodes vs Mark Henry – Henry used the “World’s Strongest Slam” on Rhodes shortly after the match began and Rhodes retreated. Henry won via countout (*yawn*).
Ted DiBiase Jr vs Randy Orton – This match lasted longer that I thought and DiBiase had a much better showing than I thought. Orton is the most awesome wrestling “personality” since Triple H, unfortunately, his wrestling skills are so lacking. My feeling was that DiBiase Jr carried the entire “wresting” match. Orton won the match, of course.
The MVP VIP Lounge - MVP interviewed Jack Swagger. It was MUCH better than ECW’s interview with the Bellas on ECW and will possibly ignite a feud between the two.
Kofi Kingston vs. Evan Bourne - For anyone who’s been watching televised wrestling latelty, I’m sure I don’t have to explain how exciting this match was. Both are experienced in hi-flying, chain, and mat wrestling techniques. Evan wins the match using his move the “Airbourne”, with Kofi giving a great showing. This match was too short in my opinion. Following the match, Big Show attacked Kingston and then Bourne (after coming to Kingston’s aid). Kofi was left lying in the ring.
Night Of Champions Finalist Match – Tripe H vs. John Cena – This match lasted approximately fifteen minutes with the crowd was solidly behind Triple H. This bout was full of quick roll-up pin-falls and high impact moves. While I don’t care for Cena too much, he wrestled a solid match with the ring general. The show ended as Rhodes and DiBiase interfered getting both competitors being disqualified.
Randy Orton appears announcing neither competitor qualified to face him at the Night Of Champions. The Million Dollar Man appears once again to end the show announcing Night Of Champions will be a Triple Threat, Randy Orton vs. Triple H vs John Cena. I rolled my eyes back and sarcastically thought “there’s a surprise”.
