Pro Wrestling News and Rumors Report for October 5th, 2009

- Topping pro wrestling news reports this week, Scott Steiner almost caused a riot in Zurich during a house show. Steiner, Booker T, and Kurt Angle were set to take on Beer Money Inc and Hernandez. Before the match began, Steiner ripped up the Swiss flag and the crowd went nuts, throwing chairs and bottles in the ring. The scene got so carried away that Booker T and Sharmell walked out of the match refusing the wrestle for the hosile crowd. Below, a fan capture the moment forever and was kind enough to put it on youtube.

- The World Wrestling Entertainment event “Hell In A Hell” debuted last night.

Here are the winners in order of appearance:

  1. Matt Hardy defeated Mike Knox in a pre-show dark match.
  2. The Undertaker over CM Punk to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.
  3. John Morrison retained his Intercontinental Championship against Dolph Ziggler.
  4. Jeri-Show retained the Unified Tag Team Championships over Batis-Terio.
  5. Mickie James retained her Divas Championship by besting Alicia Fox.
  6. Randy Orton beat John Cena to regain the WWE Championship.
  7. Kofi Kingston retained the US title over Jack Swagger and The Miz.
  8. Drew McIntyre defeated R Truth.
  9. D-Generation X was victorious over Legacy for “Bragging Rights“.

- Apparently, having to book identical matches using the same stipulations for the entire event is becoming increasingly more difficult for both WWE creative and certain wrestlers who would like their matches to stand out during the pay-per-views. Something interesting to note about last night’s event was the order in which the cell matches were performed. The matches that actually took place inside a cell were split up throughout the entire event.

- Hardy fans, get ready for a shocker. CM Punk will be taking shots at Jeff during promos for the upcoming pay-per-view “Bragging Rights”. This was ordered by Vince McMahon so don’t get all freaked out on CM Punk, make sure you understand who is really to blame for the comments.

- In an interview for The Sun, Ted DiBiase Jr re-iterates he and Cody Rhodes’ desire to succeed in World Wrestling Entertainment. DiBiase gives shots out to John Cena for all the work he has done to make his wrestling career succeed. “You can’t just show up for work, have a decent wrestling match on TV and then expect to be a main eventer one day. It doesn’t work that way.”

- The profile of Rhaka Khan (Trenesha Biggers) has been removed from the TNA web site. Chances are that she is finished with the company.

- Be sure to tune in to Monday Night RAW tonight hosted by the Steelers. You should also see the kickoff of the main event card for the upcoming PPV “Bragging Rights” which will feature RAW vs Smackdown superstars. Hurricane Helms has noted on twitter “since RAW is the RED team, Smackdown is the BLUE team, ECW should be the GREEN team.”

This concludes pro wrestling news for September 5th, 2009.
