Pro Wrestling News 10-09-2009

Pro Wrestling News and Rumors for October 9th, 2009.

WWE Pro Wrestling News

- In what I would consider either VERY big pro wrestling news or an absolute joke (I suspect the latter), Rob Van Dam asked the WWE Universe (via fans.wwe.com) whether he should go to World Wrestling Entertainment or Total Nonstop Action Wrestling? The post was almost immediately removed, but the question showed up again on RVD’s official blog.

- The official attendance records for the Hell In A Cell PPV was 16,186 fans.

- Once again, ole Jim Ross‘ contract is set to expire next month. It’s doubtful that Ross, being one of the best wrestling announcers in the business, will be replaced on the announce team unless he decides to go elsewhere. Ross has already commented that he has no desire to work for any other wrestling company, he’s a “WWE guy”. Speaking of great announcers, it looks as if Jerry Lawler will be sticking with WWE television as his mayoral campaign continues to look grim.

- Saturday Night Live (SNL) star Andy Samberg revealed on Oct 7th’s “In The Morning Show” that he has been contacted to host GM a Monday Night RAW show.

TNA Pro Wrestling Rumors

- As reported two days ago, Booker T and wife Sharmell walked out of a live show in Switzerland due to the crowd throwing bottles and chairs in the ring at Main Event Mafia members after Scott Steiner torn up their flag. There are rumors and visible signs that Booker T is unhappy with something or someone in the company, his attitude has changed and not just the on-screen persona one. Just 2 days ago, there was a disputed, caused only by creative differences, as to how the match between Booker T and Matt Morgan should end.

Other Pro Wrestling News

- Sadly, (Captain) Lou Albano, now age 76,  is now receiving hospice care and Roddy Piper seems to have had some serious medical problem that will set back his normal schedule. There were rumors floating around the internet that he had cancer, but those rumors have been proven false. But ‘Dr. Death‘,Stevie Williams was not so lucky and was told he has another malignant tumor. Please keep all of these professional athletes in your prayers.

- The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) Title belt, once the property of Ric Flair, is on it’s way to the auction block to pay a long time debt owed to the company for a loan. HighSpots.com has posted that only serious bids of over $75,000 would be considered.

- On today’s “where are they now” list; Super Crazy is expected to become a regular in the Dragon Gate production along with The Brian Kendrick and, believe it or not, Kizarny is still wrestling. He will be appearing using the name Sinn Bodhi and will be hosting an event on October 30th, 2009 at the Bourbon Street Bar in Tampa, Florida. Here’s the vertadisadmen, it’s short and very Kizarny-like.
