I think that term “WWE Divas” was adopted by World Wrestling Entertainment to describe any woman working in or around the ring regardless of skill, experience, or talent. These pages are dedicated to the women who work inside the ring or specifically with other wrestlers as a valet or manager. Sorry Lillian…

The most successful woman wrestler in history had to be the Fabulous Moolah, holding the Women’s Championship Belt for approximately 27 years, and the shortest title reign honor go to Mickie James who lost the belt the same night she had won it for a third time. Trish Stratus had the title around her waist seven times setting a historic landmark and Chyna was the first woman to win the Intercontinental Championship. Michelle McCool was not only the first WWE Divas Champion – but also is the first woman to have held both titles (on separate occasions), and Maryse Ouellette held the Divas Championship belt for a record 155 days before losing it.

Lita was an extremely talented and popular female competitor bringing new holds and high risk maneuvers to the ring and Jacqueline Moore was as vicious as any wrestler, male or female, once the bell rang. Sable had the best opening line ever “this is for the guys who come to see me and the girls who wanna be me” and Melina Perez has the most creative ring entrance to date. Other female wrestlers-valets-managers that became extremely famous were Mae Young, Sensational Sherrie, Elizabeth, Sunni, Dawn Marie, Jazz, Shelly Martinez, Stacey Keibler, and Torrie Wilson.

The current WWE Divas roster features possibly one of the best professional woman wrestlers in history, Gail Kim. Natalya Neidhart, being trained in the Hart Dungeon with Uncle Brett, is one of the most talented submission and tactical female wrestlers. For size, strength, and beauty Beth Phoenix is the definiate favorite and no one is more flexable than Melina Perez in the squared circle. Mickie James has had some of the best women’s division matches in history and Diva Search winner Eve Torres is quickly turning into a good wrestler. Maryse Ouellette, Michelle McCool, The Bella Twins, and Alicia Fox all are worth honorable mention due to past efforts and incredible wrestling matches.
