Early Pro Wrestling Promotions
Natalya was trained in the infamous Hart Dungeon in Canada and broke into pro wrestling serving as a ring announcer for one of Eric Bishoff’s promotions from 2000-2001. She began working for her uncles’ promotion, Stampede Wrestling, in 2003 feuding with Belle Lovitz. They repeatedly wrestled each other though 2005, including a match for Prairie Wrestling Alliance, featuring a father-daughter tag team match. The Neidharts, later, joined forces with Lovitz and Apocalypse to feud with the Myers Family. In March of 2005, she left for Japan on a two month tour using the name Nadia Hart.
Returning to Canada, she quickly turned into a heel and announced that Nasty Nattie had been born. On June 17, 2005 she became the first ever Stampede Women’s Pacific Champion. She later vacated the title and went back to Japan. November of 2005, while in Japan, Natalya severely damaged her cruciate ligament and had to undergo surgery and was sidelined for approximately six months. At a Big Time Wrestling show called “Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling”, held by the NWA, Natalya won the SuperGirls Championship Title from Lisa Moretti. Unfortunately, she lost it in a Triple Threat match two weeks later against Veronica Vice and Nikki Matthews. She continued to wrestle in the Stampede Wrestling promotion until signing with the WWE on January 26, 2007.
Upon signing with the WWE, she was assigned to Deep South Wrestling for development and was transferred to help promote Florida Championship Wrestling’s debut in June. One month later, she accompanied her cousins, Teddy Hart and Harry Smith billed as the “Next Generation Hart Foundation”, to the ring in the Ohio Valley Wrestling promotion. In October, all three were sent to FCW to continue honing their skills.
Natalya Neidhart in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)
Natalya Neidhart appeared coming through the audience, aiding Victoria in an attack on Michelle McCool and Cherry, on the April 4th, 2008 edition of Smackdown in a dark show. She appeared as a heel on her televised debut two weeks later defeating Cherry in a singles match. When the WWE Divas Championship was created, Natalya was the first to qualify, but, at the Great American Bash, she lost to McCool. For the rest of the year, occasionally making sporadic appearances as a solo wrestler, she mostly wrestled in tag team matches with Victoria. Through 2008, though signed with the WWE, she made appearances again in FCW to manage TJ Wilson and Harry Smith and on October 30th, she lead them to the FCW Florida Tag Team Championships.
February 10th 2009, in a talent exchange agreement, Neidhart appeared on the ECW brand of the WWE managing her boyfriend, TJ Wilson (aka Tyson Kidd). Her ECW in ring debut was successful as she defeated Alicia Fox in singles competition on March 3rd and at Wrestlemania 25 she competed in a jacked up Diva Battle Royal for the rights to be called Miss Wrestlemania. Though she did well in the battle royal, it was for nothing since Santina Marella was slated to win. Finally, towards the end of August, Natalya Neidhart, who had been mostly managing The Hart Dynasty in Smackdown! started wrestling with Eve Torres. The two had a rather excellent match on August 28th, but Natalya came up short of winning. The following week, the entire Hart Dynasty had a six person inter-gender tag team match against Eve Torres and Cryme Tyme. The competition ended as Natalya covered Eve winning for her team.
Natalya Neidhart is wasting her talent and the possibility of making a huge name for herself as the WWE Women’s Division slowly rots. Instead of taking this young and talented diva and letting her do what she was trained to do, she’s been ‘jobbing’ and managing the tag team of Tyson Kidd and David Smith. I sincerely hope she finds a place where she can get a push and showcase the talent I’ve seen in her past.
